Docent led walking tours of historic St. Michaels are offered each Saturday at 10am from May 29 through October 31, 2021. Tours last about 90 minutes and entail around ½ mile of walking.
Tours require a donation of $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 10-17, and children under 10 are free.

There are currently two different guided walking tours available:
Frederick Douglass, a Slave in St. Michaels 1833-1836 &1877 is conducted on the 2nd and 4th (5th) Saturdays of the month. This tour highlights the three formative years that Douglass spent as a slave in the town and of his return in 1877 as a free man and abolitionist. Come learn about the early life of one of St. Michaels’ most famous 19th century residents and probably the most important African American abolitionist in the Civil War Era.
Historic St. Michaels: People, Places, and Events is conducted on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. This tour chronicles the rich history of 18th-20th century St. Michaels including the rise and fall of the shipbuilding industry, battles of the War of 1812 that were fought in the town, and the development of the seafood industry. Come view the famous buildings and learn about the lives of typical residents of the area, including Frederick Douglass.
